I need to address the lies immediately. Over $63,000 in outside PAC money from Boise, Atlanta, and Wyoming has flooded into our mayor’s race. More than double my entire campaign budget. They’re sending you trash mailers filled with lies, trying to manipulate your vote.

Video Update: Watch my complete response to the coordinated dark money attack on Idaho Falls voters.

There’s now a third mailer claiming I want to “eliminate impact fees.” It’s complete garbage. The prior “Dear Neighbor” letter is signed by two sitting city council members and paid for by “Defend and Protect Idaho,” a Boise PAC led by former Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney, a vocal supporter of Proposition 1 and opponent of Constitutional Carry, funded by liberal Super PACs from other states.

The Eastern Idaho Home Builders Association filed their lawsuit in 2024, long before this election began. In 2024, according to an East Idaho News article: “The goal of the lawsuit, according to the spokesperson for the group, is not to do away with impact fees entirely. They’re hoping to address the errors with city officials and to work with them to find a legally sound, equitable approach to managing growth.”

These recent attacks were so misleading that on November 26th, the Home Builders Association put out their own statement saying: “It should be noted that the EIHBA and local builders and developers are not against impact fees altogether. Our association has observed growth in eastern Idaho and recognizes that impact fees can help maintain service levels. We want them to be collected and distributed in a responsible manner.”

I have never said I want to eliminate impact fees. My position has been rock-solid consistent since August 20th, unchanged on my website: “Developers already contribute through impact fees, but the city isn’t putting those funds to work where the impacts actually occur.” Likewise in every mayoral forum and interview.

But look at their mailer’s language: If our new mayor reverses the city’s approach to impact fees or undermines the city’s defense in this lawsuit, the cost of new development will fall directly on taxpayers.” If. Why make hypothetical accusations? To scare you. Despite everything I’ve said consistently, they’re asking you to vote based on their “what if” scenario.

This is desperate, guilt-by-association politics paid for by people who don’t even live in Idaho Falls.

Their mailer says: “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” How ironic.

My friends who have helped fund this campaign are people who live and work in and around this city and vote in this race. My friends’ contributions of time have been more valuable than any monetary contributions.

Their friends are dark money PACs from different states, establishment politicians who can’t even vote in our election, and out-of-state Super PACs. Together with the other campaign, they’re spending over $100,000 to manipulate your decision.

You voted for change on November 4th. They’re spending massive outside money to manipulate citizens to prevent it.
